[For Sale] PUMA overheat? We have the cure!
This spacer will move the Visco fan nearer to the radiator and imoroves the airflow. This prevents the overheating situation which occures sometimes in hot areas. Fitting is simple

it isn't to move the fan closer to the rad as such , but puts the fan blades inside the cowling because as standard the blades are half in half out , which can make a bit of difference as air could be sucked in the side as opposed to though the rad

It does make a difference! Scangauge shows upt to 15° C difference WANTED:

No, Nakatanenga just spent months on desert expeditions and months in engineering plus thousands in insurance and TUV fees to bring you a piece of metal that does nothing other than allowing them to post an excited 'we have the cure'. Interesting...

15°C less means a lot.
Now we are in the middle of the winter and my motor shows maximum around 90°C-96°C. I don't need it rigth now, but probably I will buy the piece in Oct-Nov.

Do you have personal data/experience that it does/doesn't work? It's hard to make an informed decision based on statements alone Confused If there are no negatives, why didn't LR/Ford do it?

I was just wondering if there were any user experiences to go on but I guess it's still too new...
Seriously though, can you think of any possible negative effects/situations? I am always interested in improvements, especially when the temperatures are climbing so high around here.

PEM100990 - Cream is 88° With hard Spring ( standard fitment on defender )

PEM101020 - Black is 82° With Hard Spring ( this one I found ok for colder uk weather , dropped running temp a bit and stayed steady )

PEL500110 - Grey is 82° With Light Spring ( found this one took to long to warm up in uk weather and temp went up and down , GUESS AS I NEVER TRIED IT IN HOTTER CLIMATES . it might be good for hotter climates )

this is what I found after trying all three ONLY IN THE UK , but how you drive , what you tow , outside temp etc may give you different results

Ok, even if you leave out the design faults they never rectified, there are the engineered to a cost aspects (found in most vehicles). Just look at things like;
Rear door hinges on 110 to increase opening
Rear door stay improved resistance.
EGR blanking

That's 3 without even trying.

Ask yourself this. Would a serious aftermarket supplier, where reputation is EVERYTHING, make a product that was 'Emperor's New Clothes'? Thumbs Up New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info

it was a simple question having never heard of a puma overheating before. and yes i have experience of multiple puma's in hot climates. maybe not as much as them but.

Apologies. I didn't think asking for more information, forum members' experiences etc. would hit a nerve.
In any event, don't be too näive - I've had a few "lemon" products before now from various suppliers (but I'll not mention those...)
