Brakes Squealing like a Pig
Dealer would not fault it early this week.. brakes have plenty of tread left on them.

It’s so loud at crawling speeds and when coming to a stop it’s embaressing.

Any ideas ?

Cheap pads. Sticking caliper piston. Build up of dirt around pads.

As above, try cleaning the pads up and where they sit in the calipers first.

Some pads come with a rattle plate behind each pad which sometimes isn't fitted. Can pop a dab of copper grease on the back of the pad and that should help.

Side note. I've looked at one before that had horrendous squeal, The brake servo wasn't working properly. Might be a thought if you've noticed the brakes aren't quite as good as usual.

I had exactly the same on my Defender at 12k miles, drove us crazy. Thought it might be dirt/grit from offroading on Salisbury.

Garage took a look at it and (I think) they sprayed a lubricant like WD40. However problem persisted. On my next visit to garage they used the copper grease. Problem went away... well, except for the occasion squeak. 2015 110 XS CSW Montalcino Red with Black Pack

Laughing Rolling with laughter Definitely wouldn't squeak!

I'd look at the amount of copper grease on the back of the pads. Might just be as simple as taking them out, re-grease and refit?

also... while you have them out, stick a few pieces of wood in the gap between the disc and pad. Press the break pedal and ensure the pistons are moving freely and are clean. Chris
