LED Rear Lights
I am planning to replace the rear lights / stop lights on my TD5 for LED so that they are brighter / more effective.

I want them to be a direct replacement and the same size.

Does anyone have suggestions on the best place to get them from ??

Are they easy to wire up or is there some 'fiddling' to do ??

Thanks

I assume you have the "normal size" of 73mm diameter rather than NAS style about 95mm from memory.

The two main manufacturers of such items are Wipac and RDX.

I can't vouch for the RDX ones as I have the Wipac version fitted to my defender and they have been superb for the last 4 years.

They are plug and play with the correct connectors and even come with new screws.

Your favourite Land Rover parts place is probably as good a bet as any for picking them up. I did think that Brendan sold them but cannot see them on his website. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

I've had RDX fitted for a few years and they've been spot on. The bay of e lists most of the RDX offerings.

They look like the originals even close up - I wanted to retain the factory look.

No fiddling or modifications required - plug and play.

they make a significant difference in terms of others being able to see you, however we are benchmarking and comparing to the originals which are poor to say the least.

Wipac have good reviews also as Phil has testified.

Hope this helps Thumbs Up

Had the RDX ones fitted for a couple of years. Look very similar to the originals. They were very easy to fit with same connections as the originals.
You only mention stop and tail lights. They are straight swop. If you fit the LED indicators you need to change the relay to the adjustable one that RDX sell. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

You should be able to get the stop/tail LED's for less than £20 if I recall.

The distance you can be seen from is significantly increased which as you say will make a difference as the nights darker nights draw in.

Hope you get them and have no problems with the fitting as its effectively a direct swap Thumbs Up

Has anyone fitted the black pack LED lights from Nakatanenga? Pics would be great. Are they really plug and play? Really do not want to start drilling new holes!

Likewise. Wipac LEDs stop tail and rear indicators. Plug and play. Had them fitted for over two years and no problems. Defender 90XS SW

There's at least one person that's fitted the Nakatanenga lights. See here:
