Hello
My dad needed one for his new car to run the live traffic and other things we looked at the EE one that was around £5 a month, in the end he went with 3, he got a pre-loaded 20GB card for around £30. So no contract, it can also be used by others if he wants in the car to use it as a hotspot. His idea is to use it in the car and then when in France use it in his tablet. From all accounts the traffic side of data uses hardly anything. |

Cheers guys,
I know it sounds like i'm being a bloody cheapskate, as its not really a great deal of cash for a recurring plan, Just one of those things that sometimes happen that IRKS you. All i wanted to do was buy a sim stick it in the car and not think about it again till it had chewed through a few Gig of data and was empty. Might drop O2 an email and see what they can offer as a data sharing option on my Contract. 3 Landrovers |

The Lyca mobile £5 every 90 days is literally just to keep the sim 'live'. I'm not expert but I believe most sims need regular top-ups to keep live? James

There are SIMS that don't leak money when not used- my home burglar alarm has one (but they do have a small monthly rental). Cheers, Guy.

My dads one was a one off payment £30 for 20GB
he has no recurring tops up etc.. if it runs out it runs out... Its in the second Sim slot in his RR and so far seems to work well? I Have a EE sim in a tracker its £10 credit and just works.... again no recurring but then I don't need the data. |

I'd go with GiffGaff. Credit lasts indefinitely and they have what they call data goody bags if you are using a significant amount. The only downside is I don't think O2's network that they sue has such good data coverage compared to Vodaphone. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I got the 12gig one in my holiday laptop and its due to expire this month. Has been brilliant. I have a monthly contract one that is 40gig in my main laptop and also a 100gig for the office. Ive found Three the most reliable and stable sim for data for my uses. It really depends on how much data you plan to use on what is best for you, as saig giffgaff do some small package data sims that are cheap. Pete |
