I was reminded the other the day that whilst I have a voltmeter in my dash, I've never gotten around to connecting it up (too many projects, not enough time ). Anyway, whilst I think of it, what's the consensus about the best way to do it?
Click image to enlarge It obviously needs an ignition live supply but does it need to be 'clean', i.e. a dedicated connection from an appropriate point on the use board, or will it work just as well with just a tap into something nearby? On my Puma, I took the feed from the cig lighter.
But that is quite a distance on yours... Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. Douglas Adams 2012 2.2 Puma |

The cig lighter feed is doable if that will suffice. It's easier than the fuse box Darren

Pretty sure the wires are there on the TDi instrument loom. Black and brown cables with bullets.

Hmm, not sure. I have had the complete dash out and don't remember anything obvious. The gauge is earthed, as there was a terminal for that but it needs a live with spade connector to complete it.

Looks like thw white wire with the female bullet terminal to me. Just need the linking wire with a male bullet and spade terminal. This wire would have come with the gauge originally.
