Front speakers and tweeters for a Puma Defender
Hello

Currently I have the std setup with std LR Radio

In the old days of my ICE I used to run Rockford fosgate kit with a combination front speaker setup with a crossover and tweeter connected to amps etc.

If I want to change the font speakers can I simply swap the tweeters and speakers using the existing wiring? without crossovers / amps etc (maybe in the future)

If so what can I fit in the front (straight swap) and how do the tweeters come out please?

Thanks

I don't know much about this sort of thing, but I think the existing tweeters have crossovers built into them.

And the tweeters will come out with a gentle levering. Use a small flat screwdriver under the edge of the tweeter.

I know nothing about ICE but had a sub fitted whilst the interior was stripped and they upgraded the wiring to the front speakers at the same time for a future upgrade of speakers. James

Focal do a direct and superb upgrade for the Puma Defender. ( all speakers, tweeters and crossovers)
I have it and coupled with the factory upgrade the system is very good.

I dont have the details to hand but can find it if you wish

Hello they look good,

Will have to search for the link... this looks like them?
http://farcorners.co.uk/product/focal-isn100-speakers/

Will I notice a difference without changing the head unit and adding amp though?

I did like my Rockford stuff so will look and see if they do any Thumbs Up

Scott, if you have a spare hour or two give Chris at Far Corners a call, he loves his ICE! The other people to speak to is Audiofile in Bishop Stortford (where Riverboy had his 90 built), they seem popular with ICE and Defenders. James

James Smile

Problem is funds...

If I do that, before I know it I will spend a fortune.

I had gold plated cables, capacitors, subs, god knows what in my single days (sounded awesome though)

I just want it to sound a bit better Smile I've so many projects on still everything has to have a smaller piece if the cake.

Still have a list of mods to do to my car 2 years on.

Thumbs Up love it though Thumbs Up

I know the feeling, hence I haven't upgraded my front speakers!

Mind you when it's mostly Enid Blyton tales coming out of the stereo I'm not too bothered about quality! Confused James

I love and use these, and they come with a grill.
In my 2.2 Ht I ran them with a focal ibus 2.1, which amps the fronts, as well as acting as an 8"sub. All plug and play Thumbs Up Made a huge difference. However If you have no sub, That will improve the sound most noticeably first off. You could invest in decent speakers first, and yes you'll get more clarity but not massive gains.

Annoyingly, Focal seem to have discontinued the ISN100 and related tweeters. Hence my post here- http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic55496.html Cheers, Guy.

i have installed Rainbow Audio DLC4.2 "4inch component" for the front using existing speaker covers (you cannot tell physically they have been changed) and 4" Dream line Coaxial speakers for the rear.

Significant improvement over stock, see if you like it powered to the head unit if not sufficient install a small amplifier to power them.

they are available on eBay, I suggest a user by the name of kolumbus 24 which I have dealt with before. 2016 Defender 90 Adventure Edition
