Firstly you need new ones, you can't reuse them. What you need to do is put a peice of wood and a jack under the head lining to hold it tight against the roof while you bash the new fir trees in with a rubber mallet, they will then hold.
You're far better off, putting nutserts in the holes and screwing the headlining up with nice dome head bolts. |

I like the nutsert idear, that sounds great to me except I'll have to remove the head linings again which being by myself, is a mongrel of a job.
I used new, slightly longer fir tree clips but they were narrower it turned out so are useless. Thanks either way. Ken |

you can get away with taking the clips out and sliding the central section of the head liner back to access the front bit, then slide it forward again to access the rear bit without actually removing it. As you notice it sags down enough to get access for putting nut serts in.
