for living out of your defender the best thing i ever did was make, not buy as i haven't won the lottery, but make, ashelf that its at wheel box height and has a drawer under it, and as you get so much height in the back of the defender you can add a shelf that sits in the roof to side lip and gves you more storage optionsfor all the light but bulky iteams, sleeping bags, coats and such like, makes life so much easyer and very simple to make yourself.
not sure what spec your defender is but if you dont have a cubby get/ make one, well worth it. |

I have a cubby box on it's way to me as we speak. Should be with me by tomorrow
I quite like the idea of both the drawer system and shelf. Do you have any photos of yours? I assume made out of MDF and cover it in carpet/vinyl? This might sound daft, but how did you get the upper shelf into the Defender, as the door is pretty small compared to the actual width of the cab (had a problem with this before!) Is it just a case of going in diagonally? |

Or....more likely, make it in two halfs to fit in,even cover said two halfs seperately to give you the option of 'full' or 'half' shelf.

the shelf is box section with weld'd mesh on to (mesh will bend a bit) and shelf/box is made from 18 mm WBP ply as MDF will not like getting wet, i also run straps from the shelf down to the removed tie down points and bolted it in place, so no holes drill'd.

Wow. I like the outside temp gauge. Where did you get it and can I order one from them?
Thank you |

Hi dgardel, I like the look of your temperature sensor as well. Looks like a factory fit rather than some cheap add on. Any details on where you got it from?
Cheers Paul |
