There's a lot more sense on this forum than there is in Government!

Austerity? Where does that figure when you get the likes of Children in Need?

Brexit Bashing Corporation. There I said it.
They've been up to silly things for years, I don't see why it should be payed when we don't got other channels. Again, it goes into salaries, over exploded ones as being suggested. Charity donations, again, go in exploded salaries and not what it is for. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

The best way anyone can help a charity is to physically help its purpose rather than donate cash.
Wife and I have done that for most of our lives. |

That's what my Mrs Puddle does. I couldn't do it, I'd be in floods of tears. I have to stop her telling me stuff. Now left.

Front line managers. That can't. Go back on holiday, the place runs smoothly without your shortsighted, manipulating, condescending input. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Now that we’re in autumn, people who attempt to burn their leaves, but only to create a massive cloud of smoke, which lingers around for the whole weekend, as their huge piles of leaves just smoulder all day and night, forcing us to go inside and close the windows. C ts

I feel you pain John
I had one of my Land Rovers outside with a cover over it, the neighbour lit his bonfire and showered the cover with burning fall out! Covered it in tiny holes. Thank god it never went up! Sunday's, or bank holiday Monday's are their preferred lighting times..... 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

The main problem with bonfires are the amateurs who light them.
It's been quite good this year in our village, but usually, the nicest sunniest, warmest day of the summer, when all the windows and doors are open, and you are outside having a BBQ and the bonfires are lit. The art of the bonfire is this. If it's green or wet, it will smoke. Burn dry material, and it should only smoke for the first 10 minutes. Get a really good fire going, and within reason, you will burn anything without too much smoke. As John P says, too many amateurs trying to burn the unburnable (well unburnable on a fire that has no heat in it). Also lighting fires when the wind is blowing over peoples houses Grrrr! |

People who decide to have a BBQ when its a hot day any I have the windows and doors open to keep cool, the stench of smoke gets into every fabric of the house and last for months. BBQ's should be banned under the clean air act. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Our neighbours have a paddock which we back on to, They let us use their bonfire for all our garden waste, which is handy, Its usually left to me to light it, As he is the type to throw 5ltrs of unleaded over whatever is there, light it and walk away! This results in a good size explosion, 2 minutes of blazing heat, then a smouldering pile of blackened rubbish That will then sit there until I get fed up with looking at it, and spend the time to actually get the thing going properly. I don't think he has ever lit one that went on to burn everything?..... 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |
