While I am whinging about surgery receptionists I am reminded that every hospital doctor who is interviewed on tv appears to have taken to wearing a stethoscope around their neck. Why? Back in the day hospital doctors wore white coats and kept their listening devices safely tucked away in their pockets, it was only doctors on US soaps that carried stethoscopes in such an obvious manner. They all have ID badges clearly displayed so why the need to drape their auscultatory devices around their neck as though it was a substitute for half a tie. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. Damn air suspension on the wifes car. i have been driving her X5 for a few weeks while i wait for my 110 back and the suspension warning light has just triggered.
Shes been carrying water containers for the horses in the boot and the bloody things have leaked onto the ECU for the suspension. Just pulled all the crap out of the boot to get the spare wheel out and its like a pond. I hate this car with a passion |

Banks who have no cashiers at the weekend but somehow manage to find some staff to attend the machines (which seem to be akin to babies in prams with toys) and then some of said staff have to try to look busy to justify their existance. Why can't they put a cashier on and of course you cant pay in small amounts of coinage through the machines. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

A certain well known print company that produces literature for a client of mine will only use UPS.
Every time, and i really mean every time (not just the expression), I have to spend time on the phone 3 days after scheduled delivery to chase it up and then re book it. Today's excuse, the plane from Paris to Narbonne was delayed on Thursday so the Friday delivery couldn't happen. I cant even fathom why that is an efficient way to send parcels. Its a direct motorway out of holiday season that would be far quicker than faffing about loading planes. I think all i have left on the excuse list is 'the dog ate it' or 'terrorists' |

Catheter bags. I don't like 'em.
Had spinal surgery (a L4/L5 microdiscectomy) on Saturday, everything went well but a slight prob with passing pee meant I had to haul a bag round for 36 hours, not good. On the plus side it occurred to me that one would make a good spare bladder for a Camelbak cycling hydration rucksack. Anyone tried it? |

^^^ Wouldn't it taste funny? May work for Bear Grylls, but for us 'normal' cyslists it might be a tad fruity...

And then post it on Facebook or Twitter. So many of my guests do that its OK if its as I put in front of them, but when its been messed up and then photographed its annoying. Even worse is when they photograph their room AFTER trashing it, then show it to all the world on social media or Tripadvisor

People that are supposed to be "professional" drivers I.e. A bus driver in this case that fail to understand at a mini roundabout you give way to the right!
You do not partially give way, with on-coming traffic I.e, me and go past the give way line and keep moving and shunting forward before I've even got out of the way. Common sense is obviously no longer applicable.... Not any more. Roundabouts are swiftly becoming a pet hate of mine with everyone that thinks they've got to dart through and out accelerate the next person and or not give way at all. Yesterday I had to indicate around a hazard in the road as it wasn't wide enough, what happens?!? Luckily I'm stationary and watching as you should but a motorbike / scooter thing blatently passes me with my indicator on, on the inside. They wonder why on two wheels why they are hit off when they do that.. Stay behind for gods sake, if someone is indicating their intention, it's for a reason. To cap it off, the lorry coming the opposite way I was giving way to saw it all and this twit on the bike thing nearly went in the front of him too. Hence why I was waiting. In the words of capt. Mainwaring: Words fail me.... No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

Arse.
Click image to enlarge One thing leads to another..... the quad had a puncture so I hooked the flail up to the pick up. I was happily flailing away when bang, I managed to drop the front end of the pick up in hole created by a collapsed land drain. I couldn't see it because of the bracken. The rear wheel is right up in the air. I tried pulling it out with the Heritage but couldn't get enough traction. A friend with a tractor is coming tomorrow...... Why didn't I just get the puncture fixed? Stupid is as stupid does...... |

Being unwell. There should be laws against having to be unwell. Blurgh! Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
