Hmm interesting,
Steve how did you handle things if its weeing it down outside, is it a case of bundling out of the tent and into the truck quick sharp to get changed or keeping waterproofs (potentially wet from previous days walking/activites) in a dry bag to stick on when you get up? I am erring on the side of a ground tent but the thought of just having to turn a handle and having a decent bed to lie down on sounds good! Cheers Will |

You can see in the pictures I posted in this thread we have a cheap tent which attaches to the rear. This has worked very well but you still have a short dash in the open if the weather is bad.
Wouldn't change my Maggiolina for anything else though. |

There has been some really good feed back on this thread
I can see the pros and cons that you've identified with both the fold out and clam shell type which gives me plent of food for thought. Russell 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

With regards to the dust would a simple quick blast with and air line before you erect/pack the tent not solve this issue? Russell

It is possible but am not prepared to announce a set discount structure on a public forum as I might get my backside kick from a different quarter. Any discount would depend very much on quantity ordered. The price we pay depends on quantity ordered and I get maximum discount when I order and pay for 15 roof tents. Discount below 15 varies dramatically. So if people want a discount get together with a firm proposal and I will see what I can do. Please note that transporting roof tents is not cheap. You would be looking at around £75 + VAT for the mainland. I know various companies charge £75 + VAT for fitting them as well. So basic attitude is max discount will be on 15+ tents Discount will apply to firm orders with a 20% non refundable deposit. So over to you and I look forward to hearing from you via pm when you have reached a definite conclusion on what roof tents are required. Brendan |

For anyone thinking they need a medium maggi, FYI I'm 6'4 and my wife is 5'11. There is easily enough room. I looked at a medium first and far too big. Plus a med goes right to the edge of the roof and is susceptible to damage because of it.
Boab will fit it without charge. |
