Cisbo Parking Sensors Install

Driving me bloody mad! Been at this all day and no joy! Trying to wire them up to a 2004 110 DCPU XS

I've installed the sensors, wired them up and fitted the 'control box' behind the brake light panel in the rear tub.

Red + goes to the reverse light - RDX LUX LED if it makes any odds
Black - goes to the same
Yellow Ignition goes to the cig lighter in the dash
Buzzer is behind the rear seats

When I go into reverse I get BEEP, BEEP BEEP, BEEEEEEEEEP (continuous) and doesn't stop! Tried different earths, different sensors (only two out of 4 plugged in) Still the same issue, nothing in the troubleshooting in the manual either.

Also the 12v yellow ignition cable appears to do nothing at all, plugged in or not the buzzer still goes off.

I've no idea what could be wrong! Normally I would just bin them but I've got a hole cut in my nice Raptor dash and a parking sensor switch so I'd like to get them working if I can!

They have an orientation (should have a top mark of some kind) and also standard ones don't work mounted in metal

The top mark should be on the rear of the sensor

Ahhh didnt know there was an orientation!

Dont work in metal? How come? They are inside a plastic and rubber sheath surely that shouldnt make a difference?

Did you get the wiring right? According to the manual (found on the web, but not sure it is the right one) the yellow wire goes to stop (brake) light, red to reverse and black to earth... Cheers, Vincent

Interesting, why would it go to the brake light? The wires where labeled yellow clearly had "ignition 12v" on it.

Because when you stop, the buzzer stops buzzing?

Suppose so but buzzer also stops buzzing when you take it out if reverse!

It did, i followed the instructions and hace an issue hence the post! Contacted the seller as well see if they can shed any light.

What I dont get is why the ignition live actually does nothing, connected or not it still beeps.

I'm pretty sure it's to do with the way the sensors generate their pulse and then 'listen' for the echo.

Me and my dad fitted a set of normal parking sensors into the metal bumper on the back of his van. They never worked properly and randomly beeped with nothing there or didn't go off even if you were 6 inches from a wall. Total rubbish!

Bloody hell! Utterly pointless on a defender then as plastic is few n far between! That said ive seen fenders with sensor mounted directly into the xmember!

Apparently there are metal specific ones. Or you can get ones with dedicated plastic brackets

Hmmmm!! Ill look into it, the ones ive got are a sealed unit, surrounded by a rubber sheath, then wrapped in plastic and mounted into my NAS step. Should be pretty insulated against the metal!

Cheers! Ill have my leccy mate double check my wiring and take in account the suggestions above, if all fails ill go for tha.

I went for the Cisbo kit as it had brilliant reviews inc some from landy owners! Im wondering if for some reason the LED light is causing an issue

These parking sensors are all over rated, there's nothing wrong with a Dixon and bates when you hear the rattle your in the zone.
