Any solicitors here?

I know we have a wide cross section of people on here, I wonder if we have any solicitors or legal experts? I need to take my former partner to court or mediation or something to sort out some money she owes me, about £4500 approximately. I have contacted some local law firms but their hourly rate turned me pale. I'm not expecting freebies but can anyone perhaps just point me in the right direction? Obviously this is not an easy thing to deal with

Try your local uni/collage with a law course as the last year students (nearly fully qualified) usually do one evening a week of free consultation to help them finish their course. Ray

You can use the money claim online court service very easily.
It will force the issue as she would have to admit that the money is owed or file a defence.
I've used it a couple of times and have found it cost effective and easy to use.
If successful you will have a CCJ which you can enforce.

Had a family member borrow money from us to help buy a house. They bought the house, subsequently put it up for sale and we never got our money back. Families...... 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
