I had a freelander car last week while mine was being wrecked by the dealer and had to call LRA out in the end with a set of stilsons Russell

The flap is controlled by the central locking/alarm. If you're in the habit of locking the vehicle for security when fuelling up then it is almost impossible to release the flap without forcing and perhaps doing damage.

I was tempted to join the F2 forum to ask, but didn't fancy being labeled a bit of a dim Def2 owner who struggled with a fuel filler cap...
I unlocked all the doors (double press the unlock button) and it didn't seem to make much difference... Pull, push, twist, hit, swear... leave for a few seconds, it hisses, and it's off... Stupid design! |
