Alive Stage 1 can be done at home if it's a 2.4. 150hp or there about and 420 torque.
Had mine a long time, faultless. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ Last edited by custom90 on 6th Jul 2017 8:06pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Hi mate,
There's numerous suppliers out there and they'll all tell you their's is best likewise I will with mine Might be tricky but see if you can get hold of Ian at IRB and try / do a road test of one already tuned. I'm up at circa 450 Nm having had a 410 Nm tune en route. With egr delete you should see an immediate 10% drop in fuel consumption. Low end pull is amazing and it just keeps going Most recent mod for me was removing the centre box. Doesn't make much difference but it all adds up to a much nicer drive Last edited by Caterham on 2nd Aug 2017 4:30pm. Edited 1 time in total |

I've got a BAS one giving similar power and upload it via my IID tool, so i can upload it and replace with the standard one when ever i want.
Yes it makes a massive difference, but don't be lazy with the gear changes as it will make your clutch grumble. |

A bit late I know, but I had my 2.4 110 remapped today using Superchip's Bluefin set up and the difference is incredible. Too early to say about fuel economy.
I have used Superchips on 6 different cars and all have been really good remaps. It's worth noting that they have a sale on too so the bluefin remap is sub £300 which is v good. And, no, I dont work for Superchips nor do I have any affiliation with them. And no, I wont say that they are better or worse than any other remappers on here. They have just proven to be good for me. |

Increased fuel economy does in my view pay for the remap its self over a longer duration. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸

DYNACHIP all the way, he comes to you very knowledgeable, and allways on the end of the phone - faultless, and now drives beautifully, with plenty of power.

On a 2.4 Tdci, can any of the tuners on here provide the following?
EGR electronic permanent shutdown, but no further engine power/torque tune whatsoever. My supposedly 122HP and 360Nm suit me fine. Guaranteed no MIL light ever showing up due to the above. Ideally from a distance without having to bring the truck to the U.K. If possible, next question is if my dealer will notice this when plugging the truck into their system? And could they mess up this ECU change then, even inadvertently? Thanks, Eric You never actually own a Defender. ^^^^ Alive can do that. You can do it at home if it's a 2.4.
You're just looking for EGR shut down on its own, then I think that's quite cheap too. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |

I think I am right in saying that you can see a remap on the ECU if you go looking for it and know what you're looking for. So the dealer (may) come across it, or may not depending on what they are diagnosing in your ECU, where and why. A test centre can't, (unless in Switzerland it includes a ECU test), the closest non-ECU test being fixed gear, rolling road speed tests. Even that isn't too reliable apparently. Obviously if you get an older style 'plug and play' module, you can take it out before visiting the dealer/test centre and replace after, if you're worried, but I assume it will be more expensive than a straight data upload as it will include a module and cables. However, I think BAS do do one for a 2.4... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

This is sounding like a competition.
Yes, I think there is a workshop upload or a map and device etc like I have the ATRIC. from Alive. (Think there may be a newer unit now?). With the electronic tool you can read and clear DTC's and load the original map and swap if you like. I'd imagine BAS probably have similar. This applies to a 2.4 but a 2.2 I believe they either need it in or the ECU. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |
