My two penneth....
While making a complete cock of myself trying to get through a line of "bomb holes" on the Peterborough off road course, an old marshal popped his head in and said, "Eh up lad, this has TC stop messin' about and keep the revs up a touch and it will sort itself out"
Sure enough I flew through...... Thumbs Up

Anti-stall works in all gears (12 F, 2 R) but only when there is no throttle input.

Antistall on puma works regardless of throttle input.

Antistall on td5 turns off when throttle is pressed. Cheers

When I first got my car, I did an introductory off road day with Protrax. The instructor, Ed Cobley, knows the Puma's system inside out and had me using antistall, tc, left foot braking and the idle jack to great effect. Once you know how it all works and why it's there they are a great asset in my opinion.

The Protrax day is very cheap for what it is and would recommend it any Puma owner looking t understand how it all works off road. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Can I ask how you know this, because it certainly doesn't appear to be the case on my '07 2.4?

There is a very significant difference in behaviour between zero throttle and even the slightest throttle input, and it is relatively easy to stall the engine when throttle input is present. It is my belief that the engine is effectively governed to maintain a constant idle speed with zero pedal input but this effect is disabled, or at least minimised, to prevent the very odd driving characteristics which it would cause under normal conditions.
