When you match the brackets up you will see what bolts you have to undo there are only 4 NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

From my TD5 days the 4th bolt was through the tie-down loop/chassis rail?? D300 HSE 110

Yes. just put it together loosely and offer it up and you ll see the bolt that's already there. its easier to put it together than put the side plates on then put on the base plate, because if you dont put the base plate on first its a to get round and hold the nuts in place unless the vehicle is on a ramp. yes it makes it a bit unwieldy but one you get it hanging off the back fixings its easy |

Pom,
The bolt that you re-use is the chassis bracket for the panhard rod. I put the two side brackets on first and then lifted the plate up but as stated was a bit tricky, but doable. If you do it this way, do not tighten the brackets to the chassis until you get the plate on as you need a bit of "wiggle" to get the holes in the plate lined up! Dependent on the steering guard you may have to undo the steering dampner and thread one side piece over it. If there is a 75-100mm hole in one side that is what you need to do

uh oh, first problem. There is a doo dah (i dont do mechanicing)in the way.
Here is where it needs to go, the doo dah is up tight against the chassis no way to slide the clamp behind it ? Click image to enlarge Pom |

I think the brack for the guard goes on the inside of the chassis, not the out side where the "Doo Dah" is

It is simple I just think you are putting the wrong side bracket on the outside of the chassis instead of the inside. You just need to undo the bolt through the "doo dah" slip on the guard bracket and do bolt back up. (After you have removed tie down eyes from chassis)
But I am sensing you have had enough Andy |
