Smoked nakatanenga indicators/side lights Legal?
I'm looking to upgrade to led's for my black 90 and I really like the smoked look. I've seen that nakatanenga do a really nice looking kit (although pricy Shocked)

https://www.nakatanenga.de/en/lighting/sig...sets?c=467

I was just wondering if they'd be legal though before I spend so much on them, I was under the impression that smoked lenses could effect the mot

thanks

They are e-marked so you will be fine.

I think the issue with clear lenses in general is that they need to flash an obvious amber, so a smoked cover is no different.

I have them on my Red HT and it passed the MOT
Mind you it has no CAT and a blanked EGR, tells you something I think

Ah thats good to know, I just thought it was strange how I can't find any uk retailers who sell it.

@simon67 how do you find them, do you have any pictures of them fitted?

My Landy is basically black and red - so they look good externally
As I never see them from where I am driving, I honestly don't know

Externally they look nice

I think the OP is talking about the front and rear lights, not just the side repeaters. I have the nakatanenga smoked side repeaters and to be honest they are a bit dim. They look cool though.

Looking at the link above. That set certainly look smoked, but they don't mention smoked at all, just E-marked, white or coloured. Unless I'm not seeing it?

Yeah thats right, I'm after the full kit which also includes the reverse and rear fog light. The site I linked is originally in german so I'm guessing the "coloured" translates to the smoked ones I see in the pictures.

To be honest I'm really on the fence with these, I have an all black puma and I think they'd look great on it but I can't for the life of me find any other pictures of them fitted - I would have thought the likes of twisted/kahn would have been all over these with some of their builds!?

I guess I'm just a bit hesitant spending this much without first knowing what the end result would look like. Thanks for the help though, good to know they're legal Thumbs Up

I think they'd look great, if they are actually smoked. I'm just concerned about how bright they were especially in daylight. As I said before, their smoked side repeaters are not very bright in daylight. Not so bad at night. I guess if they are E marked, they pass the tests so should be OK. Go ahead and buy them and post pictures so we can see if we like them Very Happy

Knowing Nakatanenga as I do, if they say they are E marked then they will be correctly E marked. The relevant UN ECE regulations will set out various criteria which normally includes specifications on minimum and maximum light output, angle of view, colour of light etc. I am confident that the Nakatanenga lights will meet all relevant specifications.

We have some of the Nakatanenga smoked lights and am waiting for some spare time to wire them up on a test/display board.
