Click image to enlarge I was once "recovered" by this Cheshire based truck it was a Kenworth though. Awesome lump of gear but all he could do for me was chain up the trailer axle and escort me to the depot To give some perspective of size the tanker trailer is 40' Formerly mao99999 16 Focus RS Nitrous Blue. 11 FFRR TDV8 Vouge SE Black Black. 08 DEFENDER SVX SOFT TOP (SUPERB) 08 DEFENDER 110 DCPU Stornoway grey (Overland Exploration Unit) 05 Fiesta ST 150 Van 04 Jaguar XKR 4.2 Supercharged V8 02 DEFENDER 90 TD5 (next years soft top project) 95 DEFENDER 110 CSW 300 TDi Phoenix black 95 DEFENDER 90 HT Monti Carlo blue COUNTY 300 TDi 67 109" SERIES 2a TUNED 200 TDI 64 DAVID BROWN 990 rat look 55 86" SERIES 1 |

I used to see Mick Goulds kit rumbling around quite a lot before I moved.
http://www.mickgouldcommercials.com/# Some very seriously nice kit and very well kept. I used to live on a straight road at the bottom of a hill and would love listening to them jake braking down the hill with a load on or getting a run up for the hill. Beautiful kit, one day I want to do it for a living in Canada! Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

The digger recovery from the bog is a good read 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

As Shaggydog says, Mick Gould has some great looking kit and so does Neil Yates
http://www.nyrecovery.co.uk/ Neil Yates has a BJ and the Bear (you need to be 40 odd years old to remember the TV programme) wrecker truck as well. Was chatting to some of their drivers (and Mick Goulds) at the Truck Racing at Brands Hatch a couple of years back. A lot of recovery trucks are built by Boniface Engineering in Thetford, Norfolk, just down the road from me. I'd love to go for a look round. http://www.boniface-eng.com/ |

Do you, by any chance, watch "Highway Thru [sic] Hell" and/or "Heavy Rescue 401"? I keep hoping that one of the UK Freeview channels such as Quest will pick these up. |

Surely it can't have been a bigger turning circle than a Disco2? NOTHING has a TC that big! I am not actually surprised, it is apparent from Ron Pratt's videos that his similar rotator has a spectacularly large turning circle and lack of manoeuverability. I still want one though! |

Me too. It is clearly hyped up in the usual way to make it appeal to sheeple, but it is more informative than, say, IRT. It is a shame that it is so hard to watch in the UK if you don't have satellite, Netflix, etc. I can't find a UK-watchable version of S3E10 at all. |

Only that that one episode has been totally pulled from YouTube, whereas all the others (at least to the end of S4) are available if you persevere.
All the official videos are blocked for UK viewing, but can be viewed if you pretend you are Canadian! |

Very slick, the inversion of the artic tanker was very expertly done! I also like the tracked thing making off with the Beemers, I haven't seen one of those before. The recovery industry has come a long long way from the LWB Land-Rover and Harvey Frost crane, and the ex-Army Scammell Pioneer or Explorer for the heavier jobs. There is some serious money invested in that collection! Most impressive. |
