I've fitted some new LED headlights today, these ones from getoffroad https://www.getoffroad.com/deals/g05-001-0...t-defender. Now I appreciate they are cheap so wasn't expecting miracles. I've aligned them correctly on dipped beam and they give a nice spread of light, better than the original headlights. But when I turn on main beam all that seems to happen is the light gets brighter, but the coverage remains the same (i.e. it doesn't light up any further down the road). I would have expected them to work in the same way as 'normal' headlights in that main beam lights the road up further. Just curious if anyone has had this problem? If I've maybe done something wrong, or I've just bought rubbish LED lights.
At this stage I've only connected the main headlight and headlight adjuster feeds. The indicator and DRL feed isn't connected. These lights have a separate DRL controller, which I've not currently got wired in. Could that affect the main beam in some way? |

doesn't sound right, can you see the extra light coming on when on full beam? like when you look at the light ?

Hi g-mack, the extra LED does come on with main beam (the big round lower bit), but just seems to be light up the same piece of road as when on dipped beam.
Riverboy, agree dipped beam is much better, so will be keeping them for now. Sounds like I might now have my excuses ready to buy some additional lights... 
Hopefully next weekend I'll get the DRL part wired up and see if that changes anything. |

The halo is great
 Wire it up to flash orange with the indicator as well
and yes a few more lights (Lazer) up front never hurts |

I've got those aswell, and I get a lot of flashes thinking I have my main beam on??
How do I alter the angle of the dipped beam as I think it's not angled at all, its just pointing straight!! It's either that or it might be because the DRL doesn't turn off when I put the headlights on?? Many thanks |

Mine were set too high when the garage first fitted them and I was getting a lot of flashes. I took it back and they adjusted them correctly and no problems now. I think its just those four screws around the light but probably best to get it done by a pro if you are not sure how to do it.

You can't adjust main from dipped indipendantly, I'm pretty sure it's a mirrored effect. I'm also pretty sure it's aligned on dipped. You can align at home, but that's okay if your in a situation where you can do that and it still won't be acurate exactly. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Is there a change that the manufactures got the wiring wrong, If users are getting flashed when on dipped beam? Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to  us off.

I don't think so. People just don't fit them correctly. Most people can use a screwdriver, not everyone uses it well.
