2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Nato Green
MAF Sensor problem (I think), code p0100
Hi, I am new to the forum and after some help please. I have a 2007 puma 2.4 and get the error code of p0100, Mass or Volume Air Flow "A" Circuit. The engine runs normal, no stalling, sluggishness, decreasing power or lower fuel economy etc. Have cleaned the sensor, changed the air filter, checked for any holes/leaks in the connecting pipes. Have changed the connector to the sensor as some wire were exposed. All to no avail. Have now changed the sensor but still having the same problem of error code. Don’t know if this is any help. After clearing the error I go for a drive and the warning stays off. After a few more short drives the warning light comes back on but not during the drive only after I have turned on the ignition. I have read about the MAF on this forum but does not seem to fit my problems. Please can anybody help as my local defender garage is a Marshalls and they charge a fortune. Thanks in advance Steve

I have had similar problems diagnosed as out of range injectors ECU and wiring faults and MAF sensor failure. No-one seems to be able to diagnose this beyond trying out replacements, which gets very expensive. Did you get anywhere?

Pretty sure that is the nuisance one.

Clear it and forget it.

You could also give you're MAP and MAF a clean, I was surprised how easy it is to do and how dirty they can be.

This code is often brought on by a Snorkel in some cases I've heard, but I have one and have had zero issues. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Hi, have fixed the problem. It was the wiring loom. It had chaffed/rubbed in a few places which caused the false MAF readings. You need to take the loom tape off and just check for signs of wearing and repair the area/s. Mine had two areas of wear. Hope this helps. Regards Steve

Can you tell me where you found the problems in the loom on your car? I'd guess this is a defect due to the design and positioning not a random wear issue.
