Hi Alex, we have not experienced your problem.
Have you tried closing the electric window in stages? Some silicone lubricant rubbed on glass on the inner edge of the Climair might help.That is about as far as I can go. If that does not help try ringing Climair on 020 8309 7744 Brendan |

In the deep recesses of my memory aren't some wind up windows thicker than others? I seem to have a vague recollection that the glass thicknesses changed over the years of the Defenders.
That might have a bearing on the problem. |

I recently fitted Climair wind deflectors to both front doors on my 2015 90. Straight-forward job. However, when the passenger side window is raised, the front of the glass is forced out of its channel toward the interior of the vehicle, about 6-8 cms from the top of the frame. Rear of the window fits and slides okay. Left the window closed to allow the deflector to settle for a week - in hot NZ summer weather - to no avail. Correctly fitted and the driver's side works fine. Just doesn't seem to be sufficient clearance in the passenger door channel. Possibly I need to adjust the channel "rake" but it's otherwise fine. Any ideas?

As Brendan says a little silicon lubricant will help. I'd take them back out, clean and lubricate the runners with silicon lubricant, then pop them back in. It might be worth checking to see if your door frame is distorted or misaligned. Mine went in very easily and the windows weren't affected at all. Hope all gets resolved

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I have taken them out again this morning and cleaned and lubrictqed with silicone spray to help them all slide, but this doesn't seem to have helped. It does feel like there simply is not enough room in the channel to take a Climair and the glass. I wonder if I do have 'thick' glass as JWL has suggested? I might wait for a warm/hot day to have a play with these and see if the heat will help with everything moving and settling to get them to fit better. |

My drivers side was awkward at first. Make sure you have definitely fitted it correctly at the front lower edge, it should be sitting ontop of the window rubber.
As the glass gets to the top, help it with your hand. It's likely that the channel needs to be forced apart for the first few times. Mine now works fine after just giving it a helping hand and I didn't use any lube. Having said that I don't like them fitted now anyway  2016 D4 HSE

Huh, funny this topic should come up. I have just swapped out a set of HEKO deflectors from my 2002 Defender for CLIMAIR and now have the same problem. Darned windows struggle to close fully leaving a 6-8mm gap at the top "for ventilation"...
HEKO versions are made of a much thinner plastic and are much lower profile (does not protrude out from the glass as much) than the CLIMAIRs. Will try the grease, otherwise it is back to the HEKOs |

I had a similar problem when I fitted them to a previous defender. In the end I widened the channel a bit by levering it apart

Had the Climairs fitted to my 90 SW a couple of weeks ago by Flatdog. I've not experienced any of the problems discussed above. You can however just hear the tone of the motor change when the window is within about 10mm of the top of its travel. Defender 90XS SW

This sounds like a good idea,mine just about hit the rubber then stop (manual windows). Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

Yep I think widening the channel is the way to go (it sounds like UKIPs anti immigration policy).
I am going to have another go if the weather is warmer over the weekend and see what happens. |

When I fitted mine I thought that the Windows didn't raise as high as they did before, but I didn't get the ruler out and measure them. There is no gap or wind noise, so all good. I will agree they are pretty tight.

Just fitted a set of fronts to my Puma, they were a pretty tight fit and more so than when I fitted some to my 1999 TD5. I guess the tolerance differences between doors can make a difference also that the doors have changed slightly between the older type doors and he steel versions. I don't remember the glass being tight at the top of the door with the TD5.
