Priming procedure following fuel tank removal
I've removed/replaced the fuel tank to fit a Webasto fuel pick up to the Defender sender unit. I haven't touched the fuel pump or fuel filter which should be still full of fuel. Before starting up again will I need to prime the fuel lines using a priming tool or will it be OK without? I've read the various posts on priming and seen Andrew S's home made priming tool but this all seems related to removing the fuel filter - any help/views greatly appreciated.

PS removing the tank (110) was a sod of a job...........

I'm also fairly sure it will start as there will be fuel in the lines/filter but am I likely to get problems with airlocks etc?

Easiest way to bleed a tdci or any diesel engine for that matter is to pressure the tank slightly with a airline with the bleed nipple open and it will push the diesel through the lines.

Just for the record, started no problems and no need for priming

You may well be right there! In that case disconnect the pipe that you would if you was bleeding it how land rover intended. I was just giving general instructions that work on any diesel engine that needs bleeding.
