As fun as a Defender?!
I had a surprise visit yesterday from a rather windswept pair of friends...

Turned up in this beauty;

The guy has always wanted a buggy, so when it came up on eBay he bought it. Has renovated it over the winter, done a super sympathetic job. Sounds great going down the road too.

Thought some of you might like to see it...

Love that but if I had it I'd have to fit a screen. Ray

Definitely a screen. Have occasionally driven my Series 1 in warm weather with the screen down and its ok for shortish slow journeys Rolling Eyes

No, it's a Beetle. The Fab Four preferred Rolls Royce's. Darren

Basically yes. Buy a beetle, throw away the bodywork, bolt engine, drivetrain etc to buggy shell and roll cage...

Loads of variations on a theme, even GT/TG have done them;
