Rear pads on a 1989 90
Hi all
The drums on my defender were changed to disks before I had her. Now the pads need changing how do I know which ones to buy. Is there anything on the caliper that will ID the pads?

Thanks

They are probably discovery 1 pads ( early / mid 1990's, ) maybe take one out and go and compare at Halfords or a friendly motor accessory shop ? 1984 300TDi hardtop Stornoway Grey

The notion of Halfords having brake pads in stock amuses me! Rolling with laughter

I believe that 90 and discovery rear calipers take the same pad type. To be safe whip the wheel off and have a look. They should be held in with two large split pins and two spring clips which stop them rattling. They will also have a tab which sticks out of the top. Make sure you get the non abs version if ordering for discovery as you wont need the wear sensor.

I usually find brakeparts.co.uk good for checking the shape of pads before ordering as they have useful pictures.
