Good call. My fear with 17" is that it is a fairly uncommon size and I'll be forever a slave to availability.
I'll chat it over in person with them but I'll likely go with the BFG (which I've been coveting for some time). I don't drive like a loon anyway - especially in the wet (those days - and cars - are behind me). One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

Alan
Never had a problem with my BFG AT's in the wet or on greasy roads even when driving hard - in fact I feel they are better than stock GG TR's. I run 32 psi in the fronts and 40 in the rears of my double cab (could be totally the wrong pressures but they work for me ) and I have had no issues. Bob |

200,000 miles on my Discovery 2 on 265 BFG MTs and never a single hairy moment, even when driven very hard. Also, I am still on the second set though they are pretty well worn now. You can get 100,000 miles out of a set of these tyres.
In terms of VFM, quality, and performance they cannot be beaten. I wouldn't personally bother with BFG ATs though, since the MTs are better IMHO even on the tarmac. |

Hi Alan,
Seem to have a problem with sending PM's at the mo (probably me, not the system). Just to say, even if it is just for the short term on the sankey, those GG TR's of mine are there if you want them. Cheers, Jon Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Thanks to all for their input - particularly to @Ken for his sage words of wisdom and to @party monkey for being an all round splendid chap.
Against Silverline's best advice but following like a the wisdom of crowds, I've gone for a spledid set of BFG AT at 265x75x16. I've then mounted 3 of my GGs onto black modulars for te Sankey. I'll post a pic later on. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |
