Puma 2.4 common fuel rail
Morning Guys,
Anyone who has looked at any of my threads will know that I have more than a little bit of implied OCD.
so it is probably no surprise that I am so offended by the horrible rusty mess that is my trucks common fuel rail !!
SO two questions
1) are they all like this ?
2) is there anything that can be done ? could I get a new one plated in nickel or something?
Know it is incredibly picky BUT it makes me itch to look at it Laughing
Help or suggestions welcomed (except the ones that mention any type of therapy) "Of Course, Of course, I ain't asking . I'm telling!!"

Hello madfrankie

oh I feel your pain...

Consider fe-123 or another good Rust Converter, I gave my Common Fuel Rail a coating
to see how it lasted...the 'purple tint' dies down after a while, my intention was to then over
paint with a good quality paint, maybe a heat resistant matt black stove / automotive paint...
but the fe-123 has lasted on its own really well, in the spring i'll revisit this and redo / finish
the job.

Put some acf 50 on it.
It colours it up a bit and won't rust anymore Thumbs Up

Given the pressures involved, I would doubt this is cast, I suspect this is a forged piece.

Not that it makes a difference, just an observation.

Cheers
