do you have dash LEDs or lamps.
On early dash boards its a single lamp for left/right indicator (2 green arrows); the system works by discharging in both directions through this lamp. If you put an LED dash bulb in place it sort of links both circuits and they both come on when you indicate. You either need to update the dash where they have separate indicator warning lamps... or replace a couple of your LEDs back to bulbs. (sometimes the side repeaters can be kept as lamps) |

Thank you for your reply....
The Defender is an 87 model, so yes...an early model. Hoping to dedicate a lot of time to this problem tomorrow. Will put your idea in place and see what happens... ....fingers crossed Cheers Chris (Anyone got a newer dash for sale?) |

Update...
Searched google and found some valuable info: Ordered a RDX warning light from Bolt-on-Bits (this has an earth wire) and have been assured that this instantly solves the problem with no fuss. (wish this issue was made more aware to owners of early defenders / Land Rover 90's etc when purchasing led indicators, has caused hell in all headaches and time wasting!) Cost £15 and sent out 1st class - same day ...will update when delivered and installed. Chris |
