SVX front lights
Morning all,

I had my SVX front fitted by the dealer before I took delivery of my new XS, and drove home with all the original XS factory fitted bits in the back.

Obviously, the lights are different and my owners manual refers to all the replacement bulbs for the original front as follows:

Headlamp bulb H7
Front side lamps W5W
Front indicators PY21W

Does anyone know what they should be for the SVX lights including the driving lamps?

Also, is it true that you have to remove the whole front to change a bulb if you've got the SVX front, and if so, how do you do it? The only fasteners I can see are along the top of the grille panel under the bonnet.

the dealer should have left the SVX fitting instructions with you.

SVX headlamps are still H4
the indicator lamps are the same but may have orange coating
the side lights are different
the AUX lamps are H9s

there is an electrical supplement manual for the SVX front end and LED rear lights.... someone on the forum should be able to email it to you.

as for changing bulbs - probably have to remove the front plinths to get to the light units.


BTW- Hella are introducing 90mm spot light LED units - I'm going to replace the standard LR units with these when I can find them.

Thanks for the feedback BPman. I'll contact my dealer and find out if they still have the paperwork for the SVX front which would be really useful. In the mean time if there is anyone out there who could mail it to me that would be much appreciated. I certainly didn't get it when I collected the vehicle.

When you say that Hella are introducing some LED replacements for the standard LR ones, do you mean the standard Hella SVX front ones? If so, I'd be interested in those, although I think the existing ones may be difficult to improve upon. One of the main reasons I went for the SVX front was the massive improvement in lighting over the standard vehicle. The Hella lamps do make a lot of difference.
