GL-4 i think is what recommended, but most say GL-5 is ok too.

GL4 is spec. If its never had synth before sythn and semi synth can hasten leaking at seals. So....... One says EP90 for both. One says EP90 for axles, and 75w/90 GL5 for transfer case! 1999 Defender TD5 110

75-90 in mine and fully synthetic. I wouldn’t run mineral in a transfer box.

75/90 and EP80 ordered for the job. Along with engine oil and filters plus gear box oil. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Ep 80/90 GL4 in mine, front back and transfer case.
All done 220k and seems fine! |
