Diff and transfer case oil

Time to change the oils. Front / Rear diff and transfer case Gear Oil SX75W-90 GL-5 Semi Synthetic OK for the job? 1999 Defender TD5 110

GL-4 i think is what recommended, but most say GL-5 is ok too.

GL4 is spec. If its never had synth before sythn and semi synth can hasten leaking at seals. Good luck

Cheers, I am not 100% sure what synth I have used in the past.(short of digging out previous receipts) 1999 Defender TD5 110

Found the old containers in the shed;

SX75w/90 GL4 Gear oil
EP80/90 GL4 Hypoid gear oil 1999 Defender TD5 110

So....... One says EP90 for both. One says EP90 for axles, and 75w/90 GL5 for transfer case! 1999 Defender TD5 110

2006 Defender 110 Td5 USW Zermatt Silver

75-90 in mine and fully synthetic. I wouldn’t run mineral in a transfer box.

75/90 and EP80 ordered for the job. Along with engine oil and filters plus gear box oil. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Ep 80/90 GL4 in mine, front back and transfer case.

All done 220k and seems fine!
