Just to reiterate all above comments - we had a Skoda Monte Carlo Fabia - superb car had for three years bought new for a fraction over £13k only ever needed servicing & sold for £8.5k to a friend, who also has had not one problem since

if only Skoda made defenders Whistle Whistle

Saying all that our latest Audi RS is totally addictive to drive 2020 P300 HSE

It does look dry but I would expect it to have been making a heck of a noise before the explosion. Also there's no sign of heat on the internals - would have expected them to be bluish colour. (don't ask me how I know Crying or Very sad )

Perhaps a loose nut/bolt in it? Richard

Matt had felt that there was something not right with the transmission from the off - it had been back to Audi a couple of times for inspection (he knows his cars). Nothing too major till this though.

Mate of mine had an Octavia Scout and now has a Yeti - great cars both and worked hard (works for the Wild Trout Trust).

I had an A3 a few years ago (for just under a year) and it spent more time in the dealers having a misfire 'diagnosed' than I spent driving it. I lost count of the times it went back for further investigation after I was informed they had fixed it. The total was at £6k worth of warranty work when the warranty neared the end so I traded it in for another brand - not VAG. They replaced fuel pump, injectors, cylinder head, ECU and were still scratching their heads as to the cause. I vowed never to buy VAG again as they seem unable to maintain the vehicles they design and build and prefer to learn how to fix them when customers are paying them £100+ an hour.

Foolishly we bought a VW for the wife just over a year ago and it went in twice for the same fault they claimed they'd fixed and then 2 weeks after the warranty expired, the AC compressor started grinding. She now drives a BMW.... Phil
