Jerkiness From Engine
I've covered about 2500 miles in my 11MY Defender so far and as expected there are a few niggles which it is booked back into the dealers for them to have a look at.

One of things which has appeared recently is that when decelerating gradually (i.e. coasting) the car starts to develop a jerkiness akin to kangaroo petrol. Until recently it has been fine but this can be quite severe at times, especially when cold.

Has anyone experienced this? Confused

Apart from the few niggles, it really is a great car Thumbs Up

Cheers

DMAKX, I have an 07MY and had plenty f jiggles but not this. It might be a trait of more recent machines and I'm sure there'll be plenty of suggestions on the way. My only advice is not to hesitate taking FULL advantage if the warranty. Some manufacturers choose to do R&D before they put to market. LR let us do it for them.

It'll be a simple issue and you'll be smiling again soon.

Mines been doing the exact same thing for the past week, getting progressively worse until on Sunday the Engine light came on. It was booked in the dealers anyway for some other warranty work so they're busy looking at it now, thinking EGR too although it was also showing an error code for the engine module.

Will wait And see what they come up with Puma 2.2 90 Stationwagon

Thanks for the replies. My thoughts were the EGR too.

Its booked in for Monday so I'll see what they suggest. PDH, it would be good to hear what your dealer says is the problem.
