fuel filter water drain
If I was to loosen the drain from the fuel filter, to let 'water' out like it says on the service schedule - will air bubble up through the outlet and into the fuel system? must I pump diesel through at that special outlet under the bonnet?

Its been on there 18 months and I believe its about time I did it for the first time. 1953 80"

Reasonable logic but I believe the answer is no don't worry, go right ahead and do it. I've not had any issues and I do it every few months.

Tangentially on topic but I find the 'water' is quite oily, I didn't expect to drink it but I did wonder if it was just diesel coming out... Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

Don't worry about air entering the system, it's perfectly fine to drain, you only need to crack it a small amount before the water will drain. The U.K. Fuel is good so you shouldn't have too much water in there. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html
