ENgine Light came on while driving???
Hello All,

I´ve been away for a while. But AM currently in Germany for the holidays. Anyway, while driving yesterday down fromt eh in-laws to my wife´s sister´s house on teh autoroute. My Engine Light came on Yellow. I stopped at the closest stop, and called ADAC (AAA) in Germany. The guy shows up an hour later and tells me that he has no idea what teh problem is. I contacted a mate in the UK, and he got back too me that I could continue driving, but get to a Landrover Garage. I will be able to bring ti too one here in Augsburg tomorrow. But just wanted to shoot some info across to you guys for some advice.

Engine runs perfect. no noise, smoke, over heating nothing..

The Defender is driving perfect..

Do I have a real problem on my hands.

Funny thing is I had a service only two months ago.

I was also at the local WUrzburg, Landy dealer and they fixed a light for me, and they continued to look her over, and melt all of the ice off the fornt grill, and check the fluids. all was perfect..

SO please help me here.

Thanks,

Check if the MAF sensor is connected (plug on the air hose intake. Between the air filter box and the turbo). I believe that after 3 "engine cranks" the light should go away (maybe I´m wrong with this one Question ). Puma 110" SW

A Mass Air Flow fault will throw up a MIL light and drive perfectly well! It is usually accompanied with a P1103 code if you have a reader! It states Mass Air Flow either high or low but still within limits! In this instance the MIL light will extinguish after a few driving cycles and the fault will be logged in your ECU! Nothing to worry about as it is effectively a nuisance fault! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

My little orange light of doom lit up and exactly this was the cause! Probably didn't connect it up properly when putting it together again after fitting the snorkel and it worked itself loose Whistle

Connected back up again, after a few starts the light disappears and everythings funky again! Thumbs Up
