Fitting a Nakatanenga Wheel carrier with a NAS Bumper
I am about to purchase a Nakatanenga tire carrier, but I would like to know more about the mods required, and peoples experiences with fitting the carrier with a NAS rear bumper.

I have a MY2000 TD5 with a 2014 Puma rear door, so I would be looking at a Post '02 door model. I would assume the only difference it the pre and post '02 models is the upper section connecting to the door, no difference in the bottom section bolting to the crossmember?

Reading through mk1collector's inspirational thread, on page 24 it shows the mod required to the carrier to fit.

The mod looks simple enough to complete, but is this an older style carrier?

Then looking on Nakatanenga's site, the carrier is a completely different design, looks like it would be easier to modify, or possibly not need any modification.

Interested to hear more about peoples experiences with the tire carrier and NAS bumper together before putting down my hard earned dollars. It would be a shame to get it all the way over here to the other side of the world to have it not fit. it's a Landrover thing...

The current range of Nakatanenga wheel carrier does fit with genuine NAS step.

You may have to use some lubricant/washing up liquid on the rubber tread and stand on the bottom bracket to get it to slide down the back.

In extreme circumstances you may have to trim a sliver off the rubber tread plate
