It is there for a reason and based on condition not time. Nevertheless if you wish to circumvent this warning and reset it on page two of this thread I posted a couple of ways of resetting it which worked for some. Timing is of the essence so take note.

Snap. Mine is same age and a couple of 100 extra miles and has just come on as well. Only difference is - mine has already had an oil/filter change done at approx. 3k. |

Thanks K9F
Maybe the DPF wants to regen so will take it for a bit of a blast later. Failing that will try the reset method as oil level is spot on and seems very clean. -2015 Defender 90 XS Landmark- |

Okay so blast back to London didn't fix it, but reset the indicator with the brake and accelerator pedal method.
Will now do an oil change for peace of mind incase it has indeed got too much diesel in it. Any recommendations for the weird 934B spec oil?! Also will the fact the oil service light came on be logged in the ECU now its been reset? Cheers! -2015 Defender 90 XS Landmark- |

Oils list: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic34176.html
Bear in mind you will now not get a warning when it is due its service. The Fuchs oil in C2 spec that Advanced Factors are listing does not appear to have the Ford 934B approval. It should be C1 spec. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

I wouldn't bother going to the added expense of swapping the oil again in September. Keep the receipt and just let the dealership know it's been done. Change it next time you get the warning. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
