Following this issue http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic472-75.html Land Rover are going to change my engine. The vehicle is in the dealers and has been since 13th Feb with no sign of the engine turning up. We have a TDV8 FFRR as a loan car, very nice but I want a Defender for work. Even when they change the engine I am still not happy having to get under the car every 2 - 3k miles to tighten the prop bolts. Honestly this vehicle is the worst one I have ever bought.

Andew I know how you feel mate, you know the problems I have had with mine. I did not have a new engine and went down I differant route. There is something about those early 2007 models, mine has only done 14k and really is a bag of spanners. I hope when the new engine does arrive it sorts your problems.

My approach is - since I bought a Defender to perform certain duties then any loan car they give me should be expected to perform those duties. The last FL2 they loaned me went back full of dog hair and bits of wood splinters ![]() 1970 Alfa Romeo 1750GTV |

Just use the FFRR for your normal work!! After all they do say they are as capable as a defender.

Clutch has turned up so the engine is back in the vehicle, however the pulley carrier plate that sits on the front of the engine is on back order.
