1998 Defender 90 300 Tdi HT Barolo Black

Rotten / Snapped Door Top Corners

Hi all,

Just got my first defender and started working through all the problems.

I've removed the door cards to try and fix the interior lock buttons. What I revealed is the mounting points in the top corner have rusted and snapped off. One side is a bodged repair, the other side has the whole section missing.

The rest of the door doesn't seem too bad so is there any way these can be repaired?

you can get top door repair section i trying to remember who is making them now and all you will need to do have weld in place

this right hand door piece and in same site you will find LH door piece

you can see one door with window and winding mec missing and red arrows show the parts you have and problem with

There seems to be lots of sections but I can't find that bit. Are these not common? Don't really want to have to replace the whole door for that bit.

not problem

I'm in the process re skinning two door with steel gav skins diver door completed had to repair door frame and paint it be for fitting skin and finishing paint work fitting the door also wax oil in the door frame to slow down rust

that's brilliant. Sp4x4 are less than a mile from my house and I need these too! 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)
