88" Hardtop / 110 USW conversion.
I've been asked via pm a few times now about the conversion, though it was done nearly 2 years ago, I have found a few pics and going nail them together in the hope that it at least helps somebody!!!

90 HT panels do not fit the 110, it has to be 88" Series.

Strip the interior trim, full headlining, grab handles and rear seatbelt upper mounts.

Then undo and remove ALL the pins holding the roof on, I left the pins above the windscreen in, though loosened them a little.
Then I unbolted all the pins on the lower part of the rear panels..
Then one side at a time, I lifted the roof and held it up with a yard brush Laughing and removed the panel.

On the floor, put the 88 & 110 panels next to each other and make sure the holes for the roof panel match. I think I drilled only 1 or 2 extra holes in the 88 panel to line things up.
I used the 110 top seal and the 88 lower seal. The lower seal was re-glued on with spray carpet glue.

Refit Thumbs Up

The inside panels were then 'road killed' (dynamat type stuff, from MUD) and then foam over the top.

I refitted the interior trim, though the rear window trim had to be 'fashioned' to fit.

There was a gap between the tub and panel, I masked them up and filled the gap with silicone, then with a wet finger (spit) I smoothed the silicone in one hit and removed the tape immediately. (Old windscreen trade trick, for fitting crappy TVR glass)!

You can see (this was taken this evening, 2 years on, it looks great still.

Though DO NOT buy/use a skeleton gun, not even if you think 'it's only for this job' .... Give that money to charity and instead invest in a barrel gun, will last for years, won't bend and is a whole bunch easier.

I hope that helps.
Questions welcomed. Thumbs Up

Time wise, I stripped it one evening after work, fitted the panels the next evening after work and bolted it all up and fitted the trim the evening after.
The silicone was done the following evening. So probably a days work.

Thanks for taking the time to write this thread, I'm sure it's going to help a lot of people who are considering the swap.

The bottom picture, from the angle it's taken at it looks like your 88" panels don't have the strengthening rib that runs down the side by the rear doors, is this so? Mine has a rib that's riveted on, I presumed all 88" panels were the same?

Cheers,
Christian

I did the same on my 110 double cab took about a day with roof off etc left the bulkhead behind the rear seats which was useful when transporting dirty stuff.
