TD5 Rocker Gasket - Any other jobs at the same time
I've got a seep of oil coming from the rocker cover, whilst I have the top off to change the seal is there anything else also worth doing to a TD5? I was thinking of the injector washers and O-rings which are fine at the moment but could be changed as a preventative measure. Perhaps injector harness O-rings also?

I did the injector loom because I had to. May be worthwhile, and simple to do. I had oil in ECU red plug. Possibly a waste of money, maybe not?

Thanks for all the quick responses gents Very Happy I've got a genuine injector loom so will throw that in at the same time. Any more info on Mk1collector's mod?

Do I bother with injector washers and O-rings or is that tempting fate?

I normally do injector seals at 60-70K as a preventative measure. For the sake of an hours work it's worth doing. I change the injector hold down bolts and rocker shaft bolts as well.

The cam cover /bung seal tend to be the real culprit for leaks.

Thanks for the advice guys, most appreciated, will definitely seal the loom as per MK1collector's mod before fitting it.

Could anyone advise on an appropriate type of sealant to use? I was looking at Sikaflex 512 which is not conductive but there is no info as to whether it's oil resistant.

I was planning to use RTV for the 1/2 moon on the rocker gasket and the cam seal.


For reference part no's are below:
Rocker gasket - ERR7094
Injector loom - AMR6103
Injector washers - ERR6147
Injector o-rings - ERR7004
Front cam seal - LDI100030
Injector hold down bolts - MBD100050
Rocker shaft bolts - FS106307L
