Met a Range Rover driving nutter today on the M56, a convoy of Range Rovers all back streamed onto the motorway the last one in the convoy rather than slow to join the motorway safely decided to drive right in front of me at the end of the entry slip road, watch the last Range Rover Cut me up, it does not look that close on the vid but bearing in mind the speed I was traveling and the speed the Range Rover was and believe me it was a very close call. I guessed what he was going to but could not get into the middle lane as it was full of traffic. I was towing a horse box with one horse inside, so I had to brake hard (never a good idea when towing a loaded horse box) otherwise the Range Rover would have side swiped me. You can see the Back of the Range Rover light up as I angrily flash my lights at him.
The Highway Code states ‘give priority to traffic already on the motorway. Check the traffic on the motorway and match your speed to fit safely into the traffic flow in the left-hand lane’ the drivers on the motorway have priority and this means they may or may not be able to move over (to lane 2) to accommodate joining traffic. It is up to the vehicle joining to adjust their speed and timing so that they shouldn't need to stop or cause any vehicle on the motorway to take avoiding action. Obviously this driver has never read this booklet &feature=youtu.be Click image to enlarge For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 Last edited by gilarion on 18th Jun 2016 5:46pm. With that many dark coloured range rovers in a row could it have been a royal or dignitary with security trying to keep up? Ray

Do not know but in case you are wondering how close one came to sideswiping me look at this still from the video we were at the closest about six inches apart and that was after I hit the brakes. My front end is level with the Range Rovers back tire. And for gods sake I was towing a horse box...

I would say that when joining from a slip road the majority of drivers seem to assume they have the right of way and that it is the responsibility of vehicles already on the main road to speed up/slow down as necessary to let them in.
Obviously sometimes it needs a bit of give and take, but for many drivers on the slip road it seems to be an alien concept that they have a brake pedal and it is their responsibility to use it if required. |

E-PRANCE D101 1296P Car Video Recorder 3.0" LCD Screen 170 Degree Wide Angle Lens G-Sensor Infrared Night Vision Took less than ten mins to fit, just hid the cable behind the front headlining passed it down the windscreen side trim then through the dash to the cigar socket, the cable is more than long enough. The quality is great it is made of metal not cheap plastic has lots of extra features and the HD quality is brilliant. Bought mine from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/E-PRANCE-Recorder...e+dash+cam For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Gilarion - Mk1 could well be right there, or possibly undercover police etc.
They often go about like that. That Camera looks very good for the price! Is it front and rear or just front? |

Often get convoys of RR's around this part if Cheshire, often Evokes but I have seen full RR's. I think they may be LR experience or a driver training school. Often the driving standards are poor they seem to be linked by an invisible rope that means No 3 or 4 just steam through an overtake following first car. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

The first car that comes past has something standing proud on the A-post...
Click image to enlarge I know that Corbyn and Cameron were in Birstall yesterday to pay respect to Joe Cox MP... although I imagine he'd have been in his Jag XJ with some marked escort?? |
