great stuff Matt,
well impressed with how much gear you got on the roof. what sort of speed were you hitting with all the 'loose' gear up there? |

Little update,
Since owning the 90 from back in may ive only ever done cosmetic changes and added a radio, he was due his mot last week and knew he'd fail on a leaky rear hub seal so fixed that and sent him off with fingers crossed, Picked him up expecting the worst only to be told the only things it needed was a brake light bulb and there is wear to the brake pedal rubber. For a 26 year old I'd say that's pretty good going, well chuffed. They asked if I wanted him valeting whilst he was there, told them not to be daft, but we did stop to have a bath on the way home.... Today's job was to sort er indoors discovery out, I knew it needed pads all round but didn't realise how bad they had gotten, less than 4mm on each pad, so as I was tinkering with her motor it was only fair that I did some bits on Rupert,
So I did some more trimming out in the back, Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Then i started tinkering with the seats I bought off eBay the other week, Mercedes slk171 seats with air scarf and heated😁 Click image to enlarge The runners are a close match to the standard defender seats so won't take much fetteling to fit Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Oh yeah there was another reason I chose the seats to, they have a party trick like no other seats I've seen, other than defender ones of course Click image to enlarge |

Another day on the 90, managed to make some frames for the drivers seat and mount that, must say very comfortable and snug, need to wire up the heating pads, the mrs who wasn't impressed initially now likes them as it means she can get closer to the pedals without the aid of her cushion
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Made some mounts and extended the legs on the discovery dickie seat, mounted and fitted a seat belt, just need to make a clasp for the floor mount so it clicks in place Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

So managed to get a bit more time on the 90 today managed to get the second rear seat and belts in, just need to make the clasps that will fold up and fix to the underside of the seats when folded down.
Also need to decide on flooring, I'm a hardwood floor fitter by trade so I'm thinking either a timber plank floor, so more coir matting like the front or keep it rubber? Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Bit more tinkering today, passenger seat in managed to have enough room between to keep the centre seat, may change it for a cubby at some point, also went with coir matting in the rear to match the front.
Just need to sit there with a marker and dye the red stitching black and I'll be happy for the time being, Still to do/needed Rear headlining (why are they so expensive??) Finish off some trim inside then on to tidying the exterior. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
