Interior roof storage
Any ideas folks on how best to set up some sort of storage racking, netting harnessing up aganst the roof inside of a 90. Thinking of longer items suck as broken down fishing rods and possibly even skis diagonally and that it would be nice to somehow secure them up against the roof. Any ideas on how to achieve this, anything similar been done out there?

Thanks

There are shelves available that attach to the inner roof gutters, they go in the rear but if mounted as far forwards as possible, should suit your needs. Don't know who makes them though Embarassed 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

There are two shelf systems that I have been looking at, the Mantec Load Lugga and the Hi line from Mobile Storage Solutions.

Avoid the hi line, after a load of arguing I got a full refund
The build is too thin and flexes as you drive, noise drives you bonkers

Thanks for the feedback guys. Though those systems look pretty smart, i think I'm going to opt for the flexible approach of just tying an appropriately sized cargo net somehow to the bolts fixing the roof panel to the sidepanels. If i find a nice solution I'll get it posted up here in due course.

I fixed two aluminium square bars to the inner roof gutters, and fitted some metal (plasticised ?) mesh to the bars. It is used only to carry some light items. Don't have a picture at hand at the mo, sorry. Cheers, Vincent

We've just fitted mk2 prototype for a Defender Storage Solution Smile We made significant revisions to our mk.1 prototype and will now start real world tests on this new unit and make sure it performs as we hope.
It's been a long development but should provide an excellent solution for many! It's pretty cool! Thumbs Up

If all goes to plan we hope to have these commercially available soon.
