Terrafirma Rear Diff Guard Bolt size?
Gday everyone.
I have fitted Terrafirma diff guards, but the 2 bolts that come with the kit, which bolt into the two empty threaded holes on the left side flat boss of a 2012 110 are too small. As a result, I can't fit the rear guard.
Size with the kit is M10, M12 is too big (just) as is 1/2 inch.
Has anyone found the same issue and if so, what size hardened bolts fit the 2 empty holes in the left side of the rear diff housing?
This is probably only relevant to Terrafirma rear diff guards.
Thanks for any info.
Ken

Sorted.
M12 with a different pitch to my original bolts.

Hi Ken,

Only just seen this thread. I think I have the same issue, I've left mine just with the bolts holding it round the diff housing for now. Do you know what the pitch is for the M12? I've been trying to find some hardware for ages!

Thanks

Joe

They should be 3/8" BSF according to Microcat.

G"Day Joe and Blackwolf.
Joe, we ended up fitting standard M12 x25mm hardened bolts. Initially when I posted the reply, we thought it had a different thread, but after chasing the female thread at the diff, turns out my holes were probably just holding dirt, hence my initial difficulty with the M12's.
Not sure re the 3/8s. I thought all the bolts were metric?
Anyway, Ihope the M12s work. I purchased 5, so if you get stuck, let me know and I'll send you two of mine.
Best wishes fellers.
Ken

Your front and rear axles (right up to the end of production) utilise metric, UNF and BS thread forms!

It could only happen on a Defender !
