Waitrose carpark Southend
Spotted this lovely black Defender 90 in the carpark of Waitrose in Southend early Saturday morning 28th May. Wanted to hang about to have a chat with the owner it but SWMBO wanted to get the shopping home Sad

Very nice Thumbs Up and brave of them to park it in a supermarket car park. Shocked You need padded door protectors here in France.

Totally agree Riverboy! He did park well away from other cars but you know what people are like they'll come park as close as they can even if there are 100 spaces free you always get one that'll want to park so close they have to bang their door in to yours to get out Banging Head

If I have to take mine to a public carpark I wont leave it SHMBO shops while I stay in it Thumbs Up I've been know to take the Defender home before now and return in my van if I have to leave it or there isn't any spare space's with at least 100yards of no parking around it Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter !!

That is a lovely Defender I hope the owner is on the forum I want to know whare he got his light bar? Thumbs Up Laughing ! 2010 Defender 90 HT

Damned right, they don't give a s**t. In five years her mini had no door on door dents when in London, but in Cham, almost every time she parked in a side to side parking space she picked up more damage. She's very car proud and hated it. It is even more likely if you have a nice car. Big Cry Just picked up her new TT yesterday, and my DC last week. Fearing the worst. I'll have a scooter in the back so we can scoot to the supermarket entrance from the most distant, empty space possible.... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Wimmin, can be so bloody unreasonable sometimes. Meet one of their friends in the high street and stop for ten minutes to gas about who's done what to whom, but we can't do the same on the frankly unimaginably important subject of what we've done to our defenders....

I won't be taking mine anywhere near town, well not to park anyway. The Peugeot is my shopping car.

Just need side steps. Anybody careless enough with their doors when parked next to mine do regret it when hitting my side steps. And those side steps seem stronger than the average door edge too. Whistle You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Yep! Side steps rule in car parks. Thumbs Up Also the wheel arches help with the rear! For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Guess that is a problem more for a 90 than for a 110. A 90 is short, and can imagine that when parked side by side next to a 4 door Eurobox sedan, the latter's rear doors could still slam into the rear side panel. More unlikely with the longer 110 with its longer side steps. The rear doors of a 4 door Eurobox would either hit the side steps or the rear wheel area, but unlikely the rear side panel.

It's height rather than length. Are your steps higher or wider?
