The ladder will fit a small spade but not a big one, at least not without it sticking out over the roof line.
I have one of these that fits, but my bigger spade doesn't: http://www.screwfix.com/p/roughneck-27-/53829 In reality, I just store it behind the front seats as I have a bulkhead. If I'm thinking I might need the big spade, then that fits in to the load bay nicely wedged between my storage boxes. Hi-Lift: be aware they're heavy and can be dangerous in an accident. They also work better with a clean mechanism so inside is good. Have you looked under the second row seats? I'm sure I've seen one put there. Fire extinguisher: I don't have the rear quarter windows, so that's where mine is mounted. In front of the seat boxes or on the back door handle are both options. You can get Quickfists to mount them, some come with mounting brackets, but I've had to modify the mounting bracket mine came with to reduce the squeaking noises. |

I carry a 48" hi-lift inside my DC, it fits neatly across the front of the second-row seat brackets (effectively just behind the heels of the second-row passengers if I had any). It is secured to the seat brackets, and it still allows the seats to tip if required.
It keeps the weight within the wheelbase and low down, keeps the jack out of sight and clean, and is a space which is otherwise largely wasted. Wherever you choose to fit the extinguisher, I suggest that it is somewhere you can reach from the driving seat. You really don't want to be trapped in a burning vehicle with an extinguisher just out of reach; that could make for a bad day! |

I just wanted to ask the same question but for the 90. Any solutions when there is no second seat row? Janusz

My Hi Lift, in a soft case, lives under the second row seats together with a breaker bar and tow rope. Whilst the high lift is not fixed down the hinges on the front of the seats and the locking bars on the rear ensure nothing moves. 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black.

I have fitted two Quick Fists to the near side footwel just high enough for the seat support to fit, this holds my Highlift quite safe when I am greenlaning. Hope this helps. Regards
