just bought some.
in the good old days of carbs I used to add this stuff to the petrol and it didn't seem to do any harm - not sure it did any good either ? ! anyway I'm hoping to keep the def long term and if this diesel additive is going to do some good I don't mind spending the extra £1 on a tank ful - so long as its not doing any harm any thoughts..... |

Just change the engine oil every 6k.
Most additives do more harm than good Defender 90 TD5 Station Wagon Discovery 3 HSE BMW 330i Coupe |

Yes, use 2 stroke instead. http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic878.html? will give you the basics, but read it from the start and then do some other searching of the net. |

Re. oil change - What about the dealers recommended interval of 12K miles?
Not that I'm doubting anyones wisdom - I think it makes more sense at 6K... |

I use "Forte" diesel, engine and gearbox additives.. i fill fresh diesel filter with 50% of Forte treatment and remainder to tank the car is instantly smoother. I think only garages can buy it but it pops up on Thievebay now and again. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

+1 Use 2-stroke in the landy and in the Audi A3 - both run much more smoothly with than without |

I agree about the Forte, it does make it run smoother and helps a little with mpg, but have you seen the price!! I have always used millers in all my diesel land rovers (much better mpg with it) but stopped after suspecting that is was making mine go into limp home and making it misfire. (I’ll explain that) When running on millers it started to miss fire, put your foot down and as soon as it got to about 2100 revs it would miss fire and try to stall. You have to pull over turn off and then back on again. Sometimes this would work but others not. It is worse when I have the remap in. As soon as you fill the tank up with diesel without adding millers it is ok. Took me ages to work it out, last year I did about 2k in Spain and whenever I ran on millers it did it and as soon as I did not it was ok. I recently saw that millers have a new formula so I have bought a bottle to see if it is ok.

I forgot to add that every 5000km or so I add a bottle of diesel injector cleaner in both the Audi & the landy just to clear the cobwebs
