***Coolant Hose*** Catch it before it bursts

Ciao,

I have just noticed that the coolant pipe from the water pump has been in contact with a metal clip on one of the other coolant pipes to the radiator. It has caused this small hole in the pipe. Luckily it doesn't quite go all the way through yet...

If you have a RHD 2.2 puma I advise you go out and check it....

How much pressure runs through these pipes, I have spoken with Land Rover and will have it repaired ASAP but I'm worried about it bursting.

Also what is the part number of the hose below with the green marking?

Without knowing the coolant system, a couple of bar on the pump outlet side. I have successfully patched up pipes with self amalgamating tape while waiting for parts, just have to prep and clean the area well

Right it's the hose from the water pump, I have found a few parts diagrams but only for the 2.4. Does anyone have one for the 2.2.

On the 2.4 where a hose goes past the PAS header, is one to keep an eye on too, as well as various clips can come off.

These hoses are surprisingly expensive too..

This maybe time too go full silicone pipe kit! You may change out the coolant as well, I always lose a little however carefull too collect it as I drain! Just done the MGR like this for peace of mind. Rubber pipes after a few years are too me always a concern on big trips, you can examine but I don't know a sure fired way of telling if they are good!

Same happened on my 2012 2.2. This is a known issue and should be fixed by your dealer. They replaced the pipe and added a few cable ties here and there. I think the new pipe is a slightly different shape so as to avoid a reoccurrence. I would certainly take it up with your local dealer.

Possibly LR049202 - if that hose turns away from the camera where it goes out of site and into the water manifold?
