Diagnosis for brake issues
Hello,
I am struggling to identify the cause of braking issues with my 2003 110 dcpu.

Been noticing that when starting car in the morning, I have no servo assistance on the brake pedal for perhaps 5-10 seconds, and sometimes until I have pumped pedal a bit. Seems to be getting worse over last couple of months.

Also noticed that brakes don't seem to be as effective as they were previously and braking hard at speed feels unpleasant!

Lastly, front right brake disk is worn much more than front left disk and has developed quite a lip on leading edge. Owned defender less than a year so not sure if l/hand disk was replaced - but assume that they are both same age.

Have replaced 1 rear caliper 6 months ago which was leaking fluid, and pads all round at same time.

Any advice appreciated.

Tom

Vacuum pipes? Vacuum pump? Either could be failing. Probably a separate issue to the uneven disc wear, which at a guess is a sticking piston somewhere in the set up. It wasn't me!

I will give the water spray a try..might reveal a leak if it is on the outside of servo. I understand that the diaphram inside the servo can leak too..

Spray servo with wd40 and it will show the cracks.
